Job Description:
Chief Medical Director (CMD): Innovation: Our CMD is a key staff member added to our team because the significant value can be derived from having this expertise supporting a recovery audit team. As an M.D. you would be involved in various phases of the auditing process, which may include assistance with concept development to validating and supporting the auditing decision with internal and/or provider team members. The CMD lends clinical expertise to the Edits team to provide input on new recovery ideas from a physician’s point of view. Our CMD is also available to answer specific questions and offer recommendations for the claims selection criteria as well as for the internal review guidelines. The CMD may also participate in our Clinical Parameters Task Force, comprised of coders and clinicians, tasked with researching current peer-reviewed medical literature to create auditing guidance for various review concepts. Our CMD is available to the auditing teams to help interpret physician documentation and guide the auditor to a correct decision. Physician input is one of the ways recovery auditors keep the focus on the improper payments that burden the system, rather than burdening the providers with unnecessary requests and fruitless audits.

Work 1-3 days a week on average from your own home! Must have a current & unrestricted (any state) License, Clean Databank and No malpractice history. This opportunity is based on an hourly rate. You must include your hourly rate requirements.
